About the project

Rafal is delivering the electrical infrastructure for the expansion of Borealis Data Center in Blönduós, Iceland. The scope includes high- and low-voltage systems as well as full testing and commissioning.

The project covers the design, installation, and commissioning of all electrical systems, engineered to meet the highest requirements for reliability, safety, and performance expected in mission‑critical data center environments.

At peak activity, up to 50 Rafal specialists are working on site. All systems are designed with redundancy and scalability to support continuous operation and future expansion. Comprehensive testing and commissioning ensure performance and operational readiness prior to handover.

Rafal executes the project in compliance with international standards and local regulations, with strong focus on safety, quality, and energy-efficient solutions. The work is carried out in close collaboration with Borealis Data Center to ensure alignment with operational and sustainability objectives.
